
Airtel, VI and Jio facing subscriber Porting heat and loosing telecom customers to BSNL, shown in the Telecom Report. Major telecom companies increased their unlimited plan prices by minimum 20 percent. Now BSNL only the option for those who want lower price plans for prepaid mobile recharges.
On increasing charges of monthly plans, subscribers have only alternative the BSNL against the all major Cellular Players Jio, Airtel and VI. Among these Vodafone Idea is the majorly loosing Customers to BSNL, according to TRAI subscription data released in previous month November.
In the month of July, 2024, 1.36 Crore subscribers submitted their requests for Mobile Number Portability (MNP). With this, the cumulative or total MNP requests increased from 99.74 Cr at the end of June-24 to 101.1 Cr at the end of July-24, since implementation of MNP.
The PSU telecom BSNL added total 29 lakh new customers, while Airtel, Vodafone Idea losses significant subscribers in numbers 17 lakh and 14 lakh. Telecom giant Jio remains top company in telecom sector with subscriber share of 40 percent, though loses 7.5 lakh customers in July. The following major companies are Airtel, Vodafone Idea with market shares 33% and 18% respectively.
The Public Sector company BSNL has 7 percent market share in the telecom sector. The BSNL growth is seems optimistic in recent circumstances. Although BSNL has to overcome the major hurdles the network availability and has to complete its 4G, 5G Rollout.
The information of subscribers porting to other telecom networks will become much clearer in coming months, as TRAI new reports will be available.
